Lt. Col. William Bonelli served in the Army Air Corp as a B-17 squadron leader during WW2. He also is a veteran of the attack on Pearl Harbor. At the age of 100, his life experience alone makes him a fascinating… and rare… individual.
Yet, this isn’t just a war story.
It’s a story about a person who just happened to be in a war.
We want people to see Bill as a person… not a relic or a heroic representation of another era. He was alive, relevant, and engaged and interested in people and learning. He was also deeply invested in the welfare of his country.
And his legacy.
Age too often defines a person as irrelevant or uninteresting. So often, resting inside them is another person who begs to be known & understood.
As we all age in our lives, we sometimes ask ourselves this very question…as does Bill:
Did I make the right choices?
Our documentary, “Burden Of Memory” focuses on Bill’s final years, and his reconciliation with the life he lived—both within and outside of his military service.
We are in the process of raising funds for licensing and finishing fees. We will then be able to stream our film over the internet. To donate please visit our GoFundMe site.
